Privacy policy
One Among 50 is a free, volunteer-run guidance service for Nepali students applying to universities in the United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. We follow the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) of Nepal.
What we collect
- Your name and email address from your Google account when you sign in.
- The details you enter in your profile: date of birth, phone, province and district, parents' names, phones and occupations, education, work experience, test plans, study goals, budget range and preferred states.
- Records of your progress, such as your roadmap step and the universities you apply to.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, your passport, citizenship number, bank statements or passwords.
Why we use it
Only to prepare and give you free guidance: contacting you for a consultation, tracking your applications and preparing you for each step. We never sell your information, never share it with universities or agents for money, and never use it for advertising.
Who can see it
You can see your own record. Only our counsellors (admins) can see student records, and they must sign in with Google and an authenticator code. Our database is provided by Supabase and the website by Cloudflare; they store data for us and may not use it for their own purposes.
Students under 18
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree before you submit your details. We encourage parents to join consultations.
How long we keep it
We keep your record while we are helping you, and delete it within 12 months after your journey ends or you stop using the service, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
- See the information we hold about you (it's on your "My details" page).
- Correct it at any time from "My details".
- Ask us to delete it. Email us from your registered Gmail address and we will delete your record within 30 days.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Sign-in requires Google plus a code from Google Authenticator. Database rules make sure each student can only access their own record, and changes are logged.
